Fresh air Ventilation

The Air You're Breathing, Is It Fresh?

In the year of covid we all were stuck in our homes more than we cared to be, the question I kept asking was "Is this any healthier?".  No I am not meaning to debate Covid, but rather the air we were breathing every day.  The more you are inside a home the more you breathe in and out the same air.  The tighter and better constructed your home the more that air remains in the home, a looser the construction allows more of that air to escape but it also allows more of the air from the attic, walls, crawlspaces, etc... into your home.

People breathe around 3000 GALLONS of air a day.  As you can imagine the constant in and out of our bodies is not exactly purification.  There are air purifiers to take out some of the dangers floating in your air and to kill off virus, bacteria, allergens, etc... but doing so is still lacking if the air in the home is never replaced.  Ideally your home will go through a complete air change every 3 hours.  If no-one is coming in and out the door or a window is not left open it is rare the home gets much fresh air.  Fortunately there are many options to bring fresh air into the home from the outside and release some of the stale air in the home.  Every situation is different but we are available to look at your home, evaluate your situation and suggest a fresh air ventilation system just for you!

Fresh air ventilation can be done in a variety of ways from shutter dampers triggered by home conditions, to timed electronic dampers on your hvac system, or HRV/ERV systems seperate from your hvac system.  We prefer the HRV method to dampers however timed electronic dampers can be a good cost effective alternative as well.

We also provide many attic and crawlspace ventilation options, if that old attic fan has given up the ghost or your attic struggles with temperature and humidity issues.
