Mini Split Systems

Mini Split Systems are by definition smaller versions of traditional split systems, meaning systems that have both an indoor and outdoor unit.  In todays world it seems that most customers only envision wall mounted ductless units but they are much more than that.

Mini split systems include a number of ductless and ducted options.  Wall mounts, floor mounts, ceiling recessed, slim duct, high static duct, air handlers they all fall into this little world.  Typically they range from 7000 btus to 24000 btus, (12000 but to a ton).  The manufacturers are numerous from Pioneer to Samsung to Mr Cool to Mitsubishi.

Mini Split systems are typically installed in a standalone or 1:1 application, meaning one indoor and one outdoor or a multi split system meaning multiple indoor units to one outdoor.  Design of these is important as each unit has a range it will operate in, however it is more easily done than a larger split system as it is variable speed and generally cooling one small area.

These systems are very scalable from one room applications to whole homes.  They come standard high efficiency, require very little maintenance and most can be linked to wifi control.
